Only public posts can be fetched. The images travel straight from the source to your device, so no file is ever kept on our servers. Using photos taken or created by someone else without permission may infringe copyright or portrait rights, so take care.

How to save on iPhone, Android and PC

Where the photo goes after you press “Download”, and how to get it into your photo gallery.

iPhone (Safari)

  1. 01Open this page in Safari and tap “Download” (in-app browsers such as X, Instagram or LINE may block downloads).
  2. 02If a prompt appears, choose Download. If the photo plays or opens in a new tab instead, go back, press and hold the button and choose “Download Linked File”.
  3. 03The file is saved to the Downloads folder in the Files app.
  4. 04To move it to Photos, open the file, tap Share, then “Save Image”.

Android (Chrome)

  1. 01Open this page in Chrome and tap “Download”.
  2. 02If the photo plays or opens in a new tab, press and hold it and choose Download, or tap the ⋮ menu and the ↓ icon.
  3. 03It is saved to the Download folder. Open it from the Files app or the Download album in your gallery.

PC (Chrome, Edge, Safari)

  1. 01Click “Download” and the file is saved to your browser’s downloads folder.
  2. 02If the photo plays or opens in a new tab, right-click it and choose “Save as”.
  3. 03Find the file in your browser’s download list (Ctrl+J on Windows).

If saving doesn’t work

!Nothing happens inside an app
→In-app browsers (X, Instagram, LINE, etc.) often block downloads. Use the app’s menu to choose “Open in browser” and try again in Safari or Chrome.
!The photo only plays or opens
→Your browser chose to display the file instead of saving it. Use the press-and-hold or right-click steps above.
!It says “Failed to fetch”
→Private, deleted or login-only posts can’t be fetched. Make sure you copied the URL of a single post (not a profile), ideally from the Share button, then try again later.
!It doesn’t show up in Photos on iPhone
→Safari saves files to Downloads in the Files app first. Open the file and use Share to save it to Photos.

QDoes it handle posts with several images?
AYes. One button appears per image, so you can save them one after another.
QDo I need to log in?
ANo. Only Bluesky's public API is used.
QWhat if I paste a video post?
AYou will be told there are no images. Use the Bluesky video downloader instead.
QCan I use the images however I like?
AThe rights belong to the poster or photographer. Re-posting or commercial use may require permission.
QWill the poster know I saved the photo?
ANo notification is sent to the poster. This tool only reads public post data — it never logs in to your Bluesky account or interacts with the post (no likes, no comments).
QIs it safe and legal?
AWe don’t store or copy the photo; we only point you to where the source file lives. Saving publicly available content for personal use is permitted, but please don’t download material you know was uploaded illegally.
